Friedrich August Westendorf was also known as August. He was born on 22 March 1906 at Märschendorf, Landkreis Vechta, Großherzogtum Oldenburg, DEU. He was Holzschuhmacher (wooden shoe maker). The dates are approximate because people did many other things during these times other than their main occupation. From the notes of Stefan Heitlake, his son-in-law, I find that the woodenshoe making business took a dive after WW2 and that they started to raise chickens and pigs thereafter. Later the brother, Martin, closed the farm operation completely. I do not know what happened to the place. Between 1920 and 1947. He married Rosa Josepha Middendorf in 1935; Witnesses: Martin & Ludwig Westendorf. Friedrich August Westendorf died on 19 August 1963 at Märschendorf, Landkreis Vechta, Niedersachsen, at age 57.1
