The Letter:
Dear Marlies and Fred:
My cousin Adele Grimes Castle and I were so excited to hear the background of the Barlow family. She has a computer and is on line. I will get her code so that we can correspond. She also has a FAX machine which will help a lot. Right now I have enclosed a few pictures of the Barlows you may have. And my nephew Jim said you had sent him some. I am anxious to see. Jim was also very impressed with your detail research. I know how hard and frustrating family research is, but so rewarding.
Adele Grimes Castle is the great grandaughter of Eleonor Legler Grimes. We will fax the f. (?) detail list of the families of the Barlows fax the the list of Barlows from dayton .. very soon.
Here is a correction on my father Henry Leo Ferneding. He married late in life. That's why you had him as my grandfather. Our father was born April 11th, 1872 and died Nov. 3rd 1943. My mouther was Josephine Beckman Callaghan, the second and was born Oct 17th, 1893 and died Jan 1st, 1967. Her mouther was named Josephine Beckman Callaghan. Her sister Anna, married John Ohmer. See the other list (a Michael Ohmer genealogy) I marked an X next to carolyn and Louise Barlow Heikes names. Louise barlow Heikes married Horace Heikes, divorced and I do not have his birth or death date. Perhaps you can get this information from the son, Theodore Barlow. He goes by the name of Barlow. After Brlow and his wife married they and Barlow's mother Louise moved to Florida. I have enclosed the address and the phone number. He is 83 years old born in 1916. I don't know if he still lives at this address. I haven't heard from him for at least two years. Another relative heqard from barlow but he is out of town.
Another research job I have been into is that we have that John Theodore was married twice. First to Elizabeth Beckel of Dayton who died in child birth. The child's name was Anthony or nton. I can't seem to find anything more on him including his birth certificate or JT and marriage certificate an JT and Elizabeth Beckel.
Research can be fun, interesting and very frustrating. Jim and I have been researching the Ferneding family since 1970. Dueing a lot of copying and research on his computer has been a big help.
Oh yes, we have Nippgen spelt with two G's.
Another correction or change - the name Westendorf. The name Henry Ferneding is the son of my great great great uncle Clemens, the brother to my great great grandfather Henry. I will also be sending you information on the churches.
best wishes
Anne Ferneding.
